More Than Just Wood & Nails

In Oxford and St. Michaels, outdoor space isn't an afterthought—it's a lifestyle. Whether it's crabbing off the dock or hosting a sunset dinner, you need a deck or porch that seamlessly connects your home to the outdoors.

At Raymond Tull LLC, we specialize in building structures that last. We understand that in our humid climate, proper footings, flashing, and material selection are the difference between a deck that rots in five years and one that lasts for thirty.

We handle the entire process, including the strict permitting requirements of Talbot County and local municipalities, so you can focus on relaxing.

Materials Matter

Choose Your Surface

We work with the industry's best suppliers to provide decking options that fit your aesthetic, budget, and maintenance preferences.

Composite Decking

The modern standard for Maryland homes. Brands like Trex and TimberTech offer high-performance shells that resist fading, staining, and mold.

  • No sanding, staining, or painting required
  • Won't rot, warp, or crack in humid weather
  • 25+ year fade and stain warranties

Natural Wood

For those who love authentic character. We install pressure-treated Southern Yellow Pine or exotic hardwoods like Ipe and Mahogany.

  • Unmatched natural warmth and grain patterns
  • Real wood stays cooler underfoot in sun
  • Lower upfront cost with pressure-treated

Porches & Enclosures

Covered and screened spaces that make outdoor living more comfortable through more of the year.

  • Screened porches with ceiling fans
  • Three-season sunrooms
  • Vaulted ceiling options

Common Deck & Porch Questions

Do I need a building permit for a new deck?
Yes. In almost all cases in Oxford, Easton, and Talbot County, a permit is required for decks and porches to ensure structural safety. As a licensed MD Home Improvement Contractor, Raymond Tull LLC handles the drawings and permit application process for you.
Is composite decking worth the extra cost?
While the upfront material cost is higher than pressure-treated wood, composite decking pays for itself over time by eliminating the need for annual staining, sealing, and board replacement. It is also splinter-free and resistant to the mold growth common in our humid climate.
Can you enclose my existing deck into a screened porch?
Often, yes, but it depends on the existing footings. A roof adds significant weight (snow load/wind load) that a standard deck foundation might not support. We will inspect your current structure to determine if it can be retrofitted or if the foundation needs reinforcing.
